Lee County athletic conference Hall of Fame Sidney Perkins

Sidney graduated from Cypress Lake High School in the Class of 1988, where she dominated as an elite swimmer. She was named News-Press Swimmer of the Year and capped her high school career with a standout state runner-up finish in the 100-yard backstroke.

From there, Sidney took her talents to the University of Florida, where she continued to shine. She earned All-American honors in both the 100 backstroke and 200 backstroke, and later qualified for the 1992 U.S. Olympic Trials. That’s the kind of excellence and dedication we love to celebrate in our Swim Florida community.
